An astronomical clock that puts the Sun back at the centre of how we tell time.

Heaven and Earth is an astronomical clock, available as a Wear OS watch face and as a web app. It fixes the Sun at the top and turns the map of the Earth – and the whole sky of stars and planets – beneath it, so a single glance shows where you are in the day, the year, and the solar system.

It is a personal project: part instrument, part teaching device, and part an argument that our everyday conventions for time could be more closely tied to the heavens they came from.
